How to use SiteByScan
SiteByScan lets you book an appointment or join a venue's virtual queue straight from your phone — no app store, no account. Here is the whole flow.
Scan the QR code or open your branch link
Point your phone camera at the SiteByScan QR code at the venue, or tap the link the business shared. It opens that branch's page in your language — switch anytime with the language buttons at the top.
Choose your service
Pick the service you need. For appointment-based services, choose a date and an available time slot (and a staff member if the branch offers a choice). For walk-in services, you'll join the live queue instead.
Confirm with a one-time code
Enter your name and email address, tap "Send verification code", then type the 6-digit code from your inbox to create your booking. Check your spam folder if it does not arrive promptly.
Track your booking or queue place
Keep your booking token. You'll see your appointment time and assigned staff, or — for the queue — your ticket number, position and estimated wait. The queue board refreshes on its own.
Reschedule, cancel or save to your calendar
Manage everything from the same page: reschedule to another slot, cancel before the branch's cut-off time, or download a calendar (.ics) file for a timed appointment.
Install
Put a booking page on your home screen
Cautious about installing unknown apps? Good instinct. Adding a SiteByScan booking page is not a download from an app store: your browser simply adds an icon that opens that business’s page in its own clean window. Here is exactly what happens — and what can never happen.
Changed your mind later? Two taps. Hold the icon → “Remove app” to remove the shortcut and its local device data. This does not delete booking records held by the business. On a computer: ⋮ menu inside the app → “Uninstall”.
Not your device? Pick the right one:
On the business’s booking page:
- Open the booking page in Chrome or Edge.
- Tap the ⋮ menu in the top-right corner.
- Choose “Install app” or “Add to Home screen”.
- Confirm — the business’s icon appears on your home screen.
You’ll see exactly this window — it comes from your browser, not from this page
What “installing” actually does — and what it can never do
No “trust us” here: every row states a fact and shows how to check it yourself, on your own device, right now.
It is a shortcut, not a downloadcheck it yourself
Nothing arrives from an app store. Your browser puts an icon on your home screen that opens the same booking page in its own clean window. The “app” is the page you were just using.
Space it uses on this device, measured right now: a few MBthe real number your browser reports for this site — about as much as a few photoscheck it yourself
Check it yourself in your browser’s site-storage settings. Clearing it removes this site’s local data from this device; it does not delete booking records held by the business.
Zero permissions — no camera, no contacts, no files, no locationcheck it yourself
The icon grants no rights at all, and SiteByScan pages never ask for any device permission — there is simply nothing to allow. Check: Settings → Apps → the page’s name → Permissions — the list is empty.
The install button itself comes from your browsercheck it yourself
Chrome and Safari only offer “Install” or “Add to Home Screen” for sites they have verified over a secure connection (the padlock). The dialog you confirm is drawn by the browser, not by this page.
No account, no app store — always the latest versioncheck it yourself
You book as a guest, so there is nothing to sign up for. And there is no update to manage: the icon simply opens the live page every time.
